Vinnaithandi Varuvaya (VTV)

Every movie of Goutam shows that he is inspired from Mani ratnam. But my thought is he is not only inspired, but also following so many styles (concepts/facts) from Mani ratnam [Also frm so many foreign movies, lol]. Generally its a gud movie, but even so many scenes are same as like Gautam menon's previous movies. Ex. Church scene as Minnale, Love expressed scene as kaakha kaakha, trisha's style as KK Jyothika, speaks(dialog delivery) like Vettaiyadu Vilayadu Jyothika, fighting with Trisha brother like Minnale Abbas etc etc... Normally some scenes frm Gautam movies inspired frm other language unpopular films, but this time he is follwoing famous movies scenes like Lagaan's aamir khan proposing scene, KANK, Mani ratnam's Geethanjali (telugu), Alaipaythey, Mouna ragam etc. etc. etc.

Best parts,
1. A.R.Rahman's music
2. Gautam Menon's direction
3. Manoj Paramahamsa's DOP
4. Thamarai lyrics, Dialogs, Editing
5. Climax

Minus,
1. Lengthy dialogs
2. Repeating of same concept scenes
3. Logics
4. Gautam's usual style
5. Slow screenplay

Shreya Ghosal's another beautiful song in his career, A.R.Rahman & her combination is great. Mannipaya song is really awesome.

A.R.Rahman's Couple Retreat lyrics: Sajna

When you smile, I smile with you,
When you cry, I feel it too,
You are my soul, my heart coming out to you,
Be my eyes when I can’t see,
Be my voice when I can’t speak,
Be my life when darkness creeps on me,

Hoo, sajna sajna sajna re,
Hai just sajna sajna sajna re
Sajna sajna sajna re
Hai just sajna sajna sajna re

Throw the stars that shine so bright,
Cross the sky and cross the night,
Making ways to be right by your side
Hold me close don’t let me go
Hold me tight don’t you say no
Save the love we have for ever more

Ho, sajna sajna sajna re,
Hai just sajna sajna sajna re
Sajna sajna sajna re
Hai just sajna sajna sajna re

Save me, when my dream catches fire
(Spare?) me, in my only desire
Wake me, when the pain is over
Take me, now (Take me, now) ...2
When you smile, I smile with you,
When you cry, I feel it too,
You are my soul, my heart coming out to you,
Be my eyes when I can see,
Be my voice when I can speak,
Be my life when darkness creeps on me,
Through the stars that shine so bright,
Cross the sky and cross the night,
Making ways to be right by your side
Hold me close don’t let me go
Hold me tight don’t you say no
Save the love we have for ever more...
